Phytophthora Dieback is a deadly plant disease that can devastate our forests, woodlands and heathlands. MBC work to prevent the spread of Phytophthora Dieback throughout our local bushland, and have completed Green Card training to identify and prevent this disease from affecting native plant species.

In 2022, MBC completed the Black Cockatoo Reserve project in Mundaring. This involved installing several wash down bays and upgrading internal trails and firebreaks with minimal disruption to the natural reserve.

MBC prioritise the health of the bush and natural forest areas and have processes in place, like thorough cleaning of machinery and footwear and clothing before and after works. By adopting these processes, we can all work to stop the spread of Phytophthora Dieback.
